SA’s broken infrastructure | EC residents steal water to survive

KEI MOUTH – Eastern Cape towns are feeling the effects of natural disasters.

The popular coastal areas of Kei Mouth and Morgans Bay haven’t had power or water for a week.

It’s due to a recent storm that wiped out electricity infrastructure.

Now, some residents are accusing others of stealing water from their tanks.

Meanwhile, the Amathole District Municipality says natural disasters that damage infrastructure shouldn’t overshadow the work done to provide basic services.

Many businesses from these affected Wild Coast towns say they’re already losing bookings from holidaymakers over the Easter weekend because of the situation.
